Now in its fourth week, "Snowdrop" sees a slight rise in its viewership ratings amid the surrounding controversies.
Jung Hae In and BLACKPINK Jisoo's 'Snowdrop' Tops Popular TV Shows Within Asia
As of January 3, Jung Hae In and BLACKPINK Jisoo's new drama "Snowdrop" ranked first on Disney Plus' Top TV Show in several countries within Asia.
According to Flix Patrol, VOD and charts real-time provider worldwide, "Snowdrop ranked first in Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea. In Japan, "Snowdrop" placed third.
The achievement was definitely not expected, especially in South Korea, after the backlash and controversies the drama had unceasingly received for allegedly distorting history and undermining the democratic movement.

"Snowdrop" even faced numerous petitions to discontinue the drama's broadcast. However, the court eventually dismissed their complaints and gave a green light to the production of the drama to continue airing as planned.
'Snowdrop' Episode 7 Recap: Things Take a Darker Turn for Jung Hae In and BLACKPINK Jisoo
Things become even more complicated as "Snowdrop" progresses. In episode 7, Young Ro (BLACKPINK Jisoo) sacrificed herself in order for the other hostages to be free from the situation.
When Su Ho (Jung Hae In) realized Young Ro is the daughter of the head of the National Security Agency, he used her to his advantage in making it out of the dormitory alive.
Despite their negotiations, the head of the South had plans under his sleeves and planned to ambush the hostage-takers inside Hosoo Women's University dormitory.

However, a special agent from the North was quicker than they are. Cheong Ya (Yoo In Na), a renowned doctor who was sent to the crime scene to treat injured hostages, revealed herself to Su Ho, her fellow North Korean comrade.
Because she knew the South's plans, she executed their safe return before the North's scheduled deadlines.
'Snowdrop' Episode 8 Release Date and Time
Recording their highest viewership ratings yet, "Snowdrop" expects the percentage to skyrocket as the drama gives clarity to all the viewers' unanswered questions.
"Snowdrop" episode 8 airs on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 22:30 p.m. KST on JTBC.
Episode 8 is expected to show how Su Ho and Young Ro's relationship changes amid the chaos and pain inflicted upon the two of them, especially when the latter learns that her brother is killed by the same team where the person she adores belongs to.
Moreover, "Snowdrop" will also be available for online streaming on Disney Plus in selected regions worldwide.
