"Doctor Prisoner," starring Namgoong Min, Kwon Nara, Kim Byung Chul and more, gave viewers a different kind of medical kdrama.
From its mind-boggling plot to the dark hero featuring the skilled doctor turned prisoner Na Yi Je, the 2019 series definitely got the whole Kdrama fandom hooked throughout the show.
After almost three years since the thriller medical Kdrama aired, here's what's keeping the "Doctor Prisoner" cast busy this 2022.
Namgoong Min (Dr. Na Yi Je)
Playing the role of a skilled doctor who was forced to quit working at a hospital due to accusations of medical malpractice, Na Yi Je worked at the prison with the intention of getting connections for his much-awaited revenge.
After the drama aired, Namgoong Min starred in notable Kdramas, including another hit series, "Hot Stove League" and "Awaken."
In 2021, he returned to the small screen with a massive transformation as he played the role of elite national Intelligence Service (NIS) agent in "The Veil."
Interestingly, this 2022, he is rumored to headline an upcoming Kdrama "One Thousand Won Lawyer" as he transforms into a troublemaker attorney.

Kwon Nara (Dr. Han So Geum)
The 30-year-old beauty is currently in the fantasy thriller Kdrama "Bulgasal: Immortal Souls" with Lee Jin Wook and MBLAQ's Lee Joon.
She took on the role of Min Sang Un, who previously lived as a bulgasal but turned into a human after stealing the soul of Dan Hwal.
Following her role as Dr. Han So Geum in "Doctor Prisoner," she landed the second lead character in "Itaewon Class" with Park Seo Joon and Kim Da Mi and lead role in KBS' "Secret Royal Inspector."
Kim Byung Chul (Sun Min Shik)
Playing the role of the drama villain in "Doctor Prisoner," Kim Byung Chul once again made several viewers furious with his character as Sigma in "Sisyphus: The Myth" alongside Park Shin Hye and Cho Seung Woo.
Interestingly, he will return to Kdrama land with the much-awaited Netflix K-zombie series "All of Us are Dead," playing the role of high school science professor Lee Byeong Chan, who knew the secret and how the virus started.
The thriller-horror Kdrama is scheduled to air on February 28 exclusively on Netflix.
Choi Won Young (Lee Jae Joon)
The 46-year-old actor played Jae Joon, who attempted to murder his own father.
After landing the lead role in "Doctor Prisoner," Choi Won Young appeared in several remarkable Kdrama, some of which are "The Nokdu Flower," "Hyena," and "My Dangerous Wife."
In 2021, he surprised fans with a cameo role in "Youth of May," where he played as the younger version of Lee Do Hyun.
It was then followed by a lead role in "Reflection of You" with Go Hyun Jung and "Hospital Playlist" actress Shin Hyun Bin.
