The Producers Guild of America unveiled the complete list of nominees for motion picture and television categories.

Together with other Hollywood series and films, "Squid Game" was nominated for a TV drama category at the Producers' Guild Awards, specifically Norman Felton Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television - Drama.

The Kdrama is up against "The Handmaid's Tale," "The Morning Show," "Yellowstone," and HBO's satirical comedy-drama "Succession."

Interestingly, The New York Times noted that most of the nominees at the PGA are likely to secure a trophy at the Academy Awards, making it possible for "Squid Game" to take home its first-ever Academy Award.

The 2022 Producers Guild Awards will be held on March 19 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City in California.

From Netflix's Biggest Hit to Golden Globes Awards 2022

Apart from the "Squid Game" mania it created, the Netflix series has scored a ton of achievements since it debuted.

The thriller series bagged Best Breakthrough Series at the 2021 Gotham Independent Film Award and Favorite Bingeworthy Show in People's Choice Award in the same year.

However, "Squid Game's" most significant win is bagging the Supporting Actor in a Series, Miniseries, or Motion Picture for TV at the 2022 Golden Globes.

Oh Young Soo, who took on the role of player 001, Oh Il Nam, made a historic win for becoming the first Korean actor to be awarded individually at the prestigious ceremony.

Since the 79th Golden Globes Awards was held privately, the veteran actor expressed gratitude in a heartwarming acceptance speech.

"After hearing the news of the award, I told myself, 'I'm a decent guy,' for the first time in my life," he said through Netflix.

Moreover, he also took the opportunity to thank viewers and, of course, his family for the huge recognition.

"Now, it's no longer 'us within the world,' but it's 'the world within us.' While embracing the scent of our culture and while embracing the love for my family deep in my heart, I give thanks to everyone in the world. I hope you all live beautiful lives. Thank you."
