'All of Us Are Dead' Broke 'Euphoria's' Reign as Current Most Talked About Show on Twitter
According to Variety, the Netflix series surpassed the reign of HBO's "Euphoria" on Twitter activities.
The U.S based publication explained that "All of Us Are Dead" showed a "massive upswing in user engagement on Twitter over the weekend" after landing Variety's Trending TV chart.
The weekly chart is based on the audience interactions, including tweets, retweets, likes and hashtags from January 24 to 30.
As mentioned above, this is the week where Netflix premiered the horror-thriller Kdrama.
On the other hand, "Euphoria," which stars singer-actress Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney and more, dominated the chart for four consecutive weeks.
As seen on Variety's Trending TV chart, "All of Us Are Dead" garnered 396,000 engagements and 71,000 mentions on Twitter, while the HBO drama's season 2 scored 299,000 engagements and 43,000 mentions.
Apart from the K-zombie series, another Korean content that made it to the weekly chart is "Our Beloved Summer," starring Choi Woo Shik and Kim Da Mi.
Will 'All of Us Are Dead' Return for Season 2?
Since it made a worldwide debut, media outlets and viewers lauded Netflix's newest K-zombie series.
Despite the mixed reactions, "All of Us Are Dead" received positive feedback and even dubbed it as the next big sensation.
According to Soompi, director Lee Jae Gyoo was overwhelmed and "truly can't believe all the love it has received from so many countries around the world."
With this, he expressed his deep gratitude to the viewers and to the "actors and staff who devoted themselves to this project for two years."
Since "All of Us Are Dead" is based on the popular webtoon, the director explained they "remained faithful" to the original story but brought excitement to the viewers through relatable scenes.
"However, you might get the feeling that the show is different from the original as far as the specific situations that happen to some of the kids as well as what each of the characters are like."
With the massive hype and success of the 12-part episode series, several fans are curious and, at the same time, looking forward to whether "All of Us Are Dead" will have a sequel.
Unfortunately, Netflix has no official statement on this yet as the possibility for a second season seems to be early for them to decide.
