What Makes 'All of Us Are Dead' Unique Compared to Other K-Zombie Series?
"All of Us Are Dead" is based on the popular webtoon "Now at Our School" created in 2009 by Joo Dong Geun.
It follows the story of Hyosan High School students who are trapped inside a zombie-infested campus.
Apart from the heart-stopping scenes, the Netflix series also explores social issues like school bullying, mental health and pressure among students, as well as social media harassment which made it different from other Kdramas.
The "All of Us Director" also noted that the 12-part episode Kdrama is the only zombie series that focuses on high school students as main characters.
"They are not perfectly blended into society quite yet. The school is a confined space where no rescue comes. I thought it was very interesting how the teens are immature but compared to adults; they're more passionate," he explained, adding, "I was wondering what kinds of decisions they would make in life-or-death situations."
After the K-zombie series had its worldwide premiere, "All of Us Are Dead" topped the Netflix chart as the most-watched TV show in several countries.
Interestingly, in less than a week since it debuted, the thriller-horror series remained number in 91 countries as cited by Flix Patrol.
