The drama also showed their journey towards finding love.

'Thirty-Nine' Episode 1 Highlights

In the first episode, Jung Chan Young has a complicated relationship with one of Cha Mi Jo's former classmates, Kim Jin Seok, played by the "Silent of the Sea" star Lee Moo Saeng.

Her complex romantic set-up makes Mi Jo uneasy and often reminds her who unacceptable it is; this is because Jin Seok is a married man but still continues his friendship turned love affair towards Chan Young.

On the other hand, the acting teacher explained that she still lingered in their past.

Meanwhile, "Thirty-Nine" episode 1 revealed that Cha Mi Jo was adopted by a wealthy family but showed her nothing but love, especially her sister.

With this, the orphanage she grew up in has a special place in her heart and she often visits the kids. Interestingly this is also where she met Kim Seon Woo, played by Yeon Woo Jin.

Unfortunately, she found out that he was the substitute director at her clinic while she was on a one-year sabbatical. This raises the question of whether her budding romance with Seon Woo will be put on hold as she prioritizes her career?
