Shin Hye Sun Halts 'Brave Citizen' Filming After Testing Positive for COVID-19

Shin Hye Sun announced a halt in filming a new film after testing positive for COVID-19 on February 24.

IOK Company, Shin Hye Sun's label, announced that the actress just tested positive for the unceasing coronavirus, and gave ease to fans and viewers' questions and worries.

"On February 22, actress Shin Hye Sun received news that there is a confirmed case in the production crew for "Brave Citizen," the movie she is currently filming. She immediately took a test using a self-testing kit," a representative from IOK Company stated.

"To get a more accurate result, Shin Hye Sun also took a PCR test," they added. "On February 23, she received a positive result and began treatment in home quarantine, following the government medical authorities' health guidelines."

Shin Hye Sun completed her second dose of COVID-19 vaccine. She doesn't experience severe symptoms.

On the other hand, Shin Hye Sun had been filming for "Brave Citizen" since December. The actress will halt filming and focus on recovery until she is released from quarantine.

Moreover, her "Brave Citizen" co-star Lee Jun Young had also been diagnosed with COVID-19 on the same day.

The Park Jin Pyo-directed film stars Shin Hye Sun as So Shi Min, a benevolent homeroom teacher who once dreamed of becoming a boxer. She is deeply loved by everyone around her for her patient and caring personality.

Opposite Lee Jun Young who stars as Han Soo Gang, a high school student known for his mischievousness.

Together, despite their differences, they will find a common denominator that will nourish their blossoming romance.

"Brave Citizen" is in the middle of its filming, but is currently halted after its lead actors tested positive for COVID-19.

To ensure a better environment, the production unit will take precautionary measures that are aligned to the community's health guidelines. "Brave Citizen" is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2022.
