Netflix's "Squid Game" and two of its lead stars Lee Jung Jae and Jung Ho Yeon made history for taking home three trophies from the SAG Awards 2022!

'Squid Game' Stars Lee Jung Jae & Jung Ho Yeon Take Home Trophies From SAG Awards 2022

"Squid Game" stars Lee Jung Jae and Jung Ho Yeon make another history. After competing with some of the biggest names in Hollywood, the two Korean stars won the Best Actor Award from Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) 2022!

Lee Jung Jae was hailed as Best Actor and beat Kiera Culkin, Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, and Billy Crudup.

The Korean actor firmly went up on stage and gave his winning speech. He thanked all the audience from all over the world who enjoyed and loved the phenomenal K-drama that broke major records in and outside South Korea.

The "Squid Game" star made history as he is the first Asian male artist to win Male Actor Award at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Jung Ho Yeon Gets Emotional Accepting Her First International Best Actress Award

Meanwhile, Jung Ho Yeon who just made her acting debut through Netflix's original series "Squid Game" already receives her first-ever trophy for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series.

She immediately got emotional upon hearing her name. During her acceptance speech, she was teary-eyed while saying, "Thank you so all so much. I have been watching all of you on a big screen as a viewer, dreaming to become an actor one day. I just want to say thank you so much and I am so honored to be here."

The now award-winning actress added, "Thank you for making my dream come true and opening a new door for me."

Before she concludes her speech, Jung Ho Yeon thanked her "Squid Game" family.

Meanwhile, the ceremony was held at the Barker Hanger Event Hall in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, USA on February 27.

It is another achievement for Korean entertainment as Lee Jung Jae and Jung Ho Yeon were the first Korean actors to win the said major awards. It is also the first time that a non-English speaking drama actor has won acting awards.

Apart from the two drama lead stars, "Squid Game" also received the TV Comedy/Drama Series Stunt Ensemble Award, which is given to the cast who showed their best teamwork in the series.
