The 2021 sci-fi mystery and thriller drama "The Silent Sea" starring Gong Yoo, Bae Doona, and Lee Joon centers around a group of space explorers who go to a research center on the moon to retrieve an undisclosed research sample.

Gong Yoo
Before "The Silent Sea," award-winning actor Gong Yoo starred in another sci-fi film "Seo Bok" with Park Bo Gum, which is one of the highest grossing films of the year.
He also made a special appearance in the megahit Netflix series "Squid Game" with Lee Jung Jae, Park Hae Soo, and Jung Ho Yeon.
In the last part of the year, Gong Yoo worked along with sterling stars Bae Doona, and Lee Joon in Jung Woo Sung's sci-fi mystery thriller drama.
The actor is set to make a special cameo appearance in the upcoming fantasy film "Wonderland," led by Suzy, Choi Woo Sik and his "Seo Bok" co-star Park Bo Gum.

"Wonderland" follows the story of a virtual world called "Wonderland" that simulates a beautiful place for people to reunite with a person they want to meet again through artificial intelligence.
The drama is slated to air sometime in 2022.
Bae Doona
After "The Silent Sea," multi-faceted actress Bae Doona returns to the silver screen with a slew of multiple projects.
Bae Doona works together with actors Song Kang Ho, Kang Dong Won, Lee Joo Young and singer-actress IU in the Hirokazu Kore-eda-directed film "Broker."
The new thrilling film revolves around baby boxes that allow infants to be dropped off anonymously at someone else's house.
Produced by CJ Entertainment, "Broker" is scheduled to hit the big screen in the second half of 2022. In addition to that, she will also star in the new film "The Next Sohee."
Lee Joon
Popular singer-actor Lee Joon came back to the small screen with "The Silent Sea" after four years of inactivity.
After the release of the Netflix series, he jumped onto another project with Lee Jin Wook, Gong Seung Yeon and Kwon Nara.
"Bulgasal: Immortal Souls" depicts the complicated story of a woman who lives eternally through reincarnation and a Bulgasal, a mythical creature that feeds off human blood.
It recorded a stable rating of 4.2% nationwide following its conclusion.
Currently, he's gearing up for his new lead acting role in the forthcoming KBS2 series "Red Heart."
He meets Kang Han Na and Jang Hyuk for the first time, and will show the fictional historical story of King Seon Jong who claims the throne after the great rebellion.
