The fact that Hollywood movie star Matt Damon was to star in Gong Yoo's action movie "The Suspect" was revealed, amassing the audiences' attention.
Director Won Shin Yeon during the live showcase of the movie "The Suspect," which took place on November 26, 2013, and was broad casted live to the audiences of Naver.com, shared with the audience that "Matt Damon was very close to making his appearance in the movie."
He said today, "Matt Damon was very close to making his appearance in the movie. The producers of the movie are from the United States and they actively work in Hollywood. At first American actor Wentworth Miller contacted me after hearing that the movie is being made."
Director Won Shin Yeon added, "After a while, we got a message from Matt Damon saying that he would like to do the movie with us. We sent him the scenario and got a confirmation from him. But when we were fine tuning the schedules, things sadly fell apart."
Gong Yoo added, "I was so looking forward to meeting Matt Damon. I even thought about what I would say to him when I first see him." Gong Yoo's greetings to Matt Damon, "Hi, man!" with his hand gesture made the audiences laugh.
"The Suspect" is a real action story of a special agency Ji Dong Chul (Gong Yoo), who chases after the murderer of his family members while being a target of everybody. Director Won Shin Yeon of the movie "Seven Days" produced the movie. Gong Yoo, Park Hee Soon, and Jo Sung Ha star in the movie.
"The Suspect" premiers on Christmas Eve.
