58th Baeksang Arts Awards To Take Place This May
The 58th Baeksang Arts Awards has just announced its much-anticipated ceremony date!
The annual celebration of talents will be held on May 6, 2022, to recognize excellence in film, television and theater that graced the media over the past year.
Due to COVID-19, the annual ceremony will be held with no on-site audience at KINTEX in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province, and will be broadcasted simultaneously on JTBC, JTBC2 and JTBC4 at 7:45 p.m. KST.
The theme of this year's award ceremony is "Spring Again," which means to say that spring is coming again to the South Korean culture that has been undermined by the threat of the COVID-19 virus.
58th Baeksang Arts Awards Nominees and Categories
Through a rigorous screening process, dramas, entertainment shows and film productions were chosen to depict the rapid changing content that deliver worthwhile experiences to fans and viewers.
The annual award will judge contents on terrestrial television, web series, theaters and more that were released from April 12, 2021 to March 31, 2022, as well as South Korean films released in South Korea.

The Best Film, Best Actor and Actress, Best Director, Best Film, Best Screenplay as well as the Daesang (Grand Prize) are the most coveted awards in the ceremony.

58th Baeksang Arts Awards Winners
The 57th Baeksang Arts Awards was held on May 13, 2021 at KINTEX Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province, hosted by Shin Dong Yup and Bae Suzy.
Shin Ha Kyun and Yeo Jin Goo's "Beyond Evil" bagged three major awards including Best Drama, Best Screenplay. Shin Ha Kyun received a nod as the Best Actor of the Year.

"It's Okay to Not Be Okay," starring Kim Soo Hyun, Seo Ye Ji, Oh Jung Se and Park Gyu Young brought home two awards. Meanwhile, "Voice of Silence" and "Moving On" won two awards each.
Esom's "Samjin Company English Class" was hailed as the year's Best Film. The highest honors of the night, Daesang (Grand Prize), were awarded to director Lee Joon Ik, the director of "The Book of Fish" in the film category.
For the television division, entertainer Yoo Jae Suk brought home the gold.
