Long before the K-zombie series took the world by storm, South Korea was known for producing spine-chilling movies like "A Tale of Two Sisters."

Released in 2003 and helmed by "Dr. Brain" director Kim Jee Woon, the psychological horror-drama film is based on a Joseon Dynasty era folktale titled Janghwa Hongryeon jeon that depicts the lives of siblings under the custody of their evil stepmother.

Im Soo Jung portrays the elder sister Bae Soo Mi who isn't afraid to speak her mind and protects her younger sister Bae Soo Yeon, played by Moon Geun Young.

Unlike Soo Mi, Soo Yeon is an introvert but has always been suspicious of her stepmother Heo Eun Joo, portrayed by Yeom Jung Ah.

Amid their struggle to live with their new mom, the siblings also encounter mysterious supernatural forces in their house.

While the psychological horror-drama movie is still available on Netflix, here's what the "A Tale of Two Sisters" cast Im Soo Jung and Moon Geun Young, are working on this 2022.

Im Soo Jung

After landing the role of Bae Soo Mi in "A Tale of Two Sisters," Im Soo Jung starred in a slew of remarkable K-dramas and movies.

She had her second K-drama, "I'm Sorry, I Love You," together with So Ji Sub and "Hospital Playlist" star Jung Kyung Ho.

In addition, she also headlined the award-winning series "Chicago Typewriter" with Yoo Ah In, followed by "Search: WWW" in 2019.

Two years later, Im Soo Jung returned to the small screen with tvN's melodrama "Melancholia" together with Lee Do Hyun.

She will be joined by "Vincenzo" star Jeon Yeo Been, award-winning actor Oh Jung Se, f(x) 's Krystal, and Song Kang Ho from "Parasite."

Apart from it, Im Soo Jung is also in talks to headline another melodrama movie, "Single in Seoul," with Lee Dong Wook.

Moon Geun Young

The former child star who was once dubbed as "the nation's little sister," Moon Geun Young, solidified her career as one of then rising stars.

At the height of her career in 2017, she was diagnosed with compartment syndrome after complaining of sudden pain in her right arm and had to halt her appearance for the play "Romeo and Juliet."

Three years after her diagnosis, she made a comeback in K-dramaland for the rom-com series "Catch the Ghost" alongside Kim Seon Ho.

Moon Geun Young then made a big announcement in February 2022 that she had officially left Namoo Actors after 16 years and became part of the newly launched entertainment company, Cré Company.

According to a local media outlet, Moon Geun Young's new agency confirmed that they "have signed exclusive contracts" with the actress as well as Kang Sang Joon.
