'To All The Boys' Spinoff is Choi Min Young's First Lead Series

Choi Min Young played Nam Joo Hyuk's younger brother, Baek Yi Hyun, in tvN's most buzzworthy drama, "Twenty Five, Twenty One." Recently, the rising star confirmed his participation in the soon-to-be-released spinoff of the blockbuster romantic movie "To All The Boys I've Loved Before."

In the recent sequel of the film, "To All The Boys: Always and Forever," Kitty, Lara Jean's younger sister, met a guy named Dae (Jeon Ho Young) in Korea.

Though he only appeared for a short period, viewers knew that Dae and Kitty stayed in touch, which was heard in the movie's trilogy.

This year, the famous online streaming platform, Netflix, announced that a spinoff will be produced. It is expected to focus on Kitty's story, which is titled "XO, Kitty"; it has been said that it will be released as a series.

Anna Cathcart, who plays the role of Kitty Song Covey, returns with a more exciting journey as she decides to study in South Korea to reunite with Dae. However, Jeon Ho Young, who played the original role of Dae will be replaced by Choi Min Young.

Joining them are Gia Kim, who takes the role of Yuri, Anthony Keyvan as Q, and Lee Sang Heon as Min Ho, who has spent his teenage years in the UK, US, and Australia. In addition, the filming started last March 28 in South Korea and is expected to end production this June. "XO, Kitty" is rumored to meet the viewers in the last quarter of 2022 or the first quarter of 2023.

Many have known Choi Min Young through the coming-of-age drama "Twenty Five, Twenty One." But in fact, he already appeared in multiple dramas with minor roles.

He started acting in 2016 in KBS' "The Promise," Min Young also had a special cameo in some of the famous K-dramas such as "W: Two Worlds," "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon," "Chicago Typewriter," "Two Cops," "Radio Romance," "Mr. Sunshine," "Your Honor," and "Itaewon Class."

Last March, Choi Min Young signed an exclusive contract with Saram Entertainment, the home agency to some of the influential K-stars like Jung Ho Yeon, SNSD's Sooyoung, Lee Honey, Han Yeri, and Choi Won Young, Kim Min Ha, and more.
