While Hallyu is known for producing quality K-zombie series and heart-fluttering rom-coms, another genre that is a sure hit to fans are the fantasy and supernatural series such as "Bulgasal: Immortal Souls."
Although some cited that the tvN series is almost similar to Kim Go Eun and Gong Yoo's "Goblin," viewers witnessed how the weekend series differs from it starting with the plot down to castings.
Released in December 2021, the 16-part episode stars Lee Jin Wook, Kwon Na Ra, and villain Lee Joon.
Helmed by the "Entourage" director Jang Young Woo and penned by screenwriters Seo Jae Won and Kwon So Ra, "Bulgasal: Immortal Souls" is a dark fantasy K-drama that features a compelling story filled with revenue and mystery.
The Lee Jin Wook and Kwon Na Ra-led K-drama follows the story of Bulgasal, a mythical creature who used to be a human but turned into an immortal due to a curse.
After his wife and son got killed by a bulgasal, he spent his immortality hunting down the woman who gave him the curse, hoping to free himself from it.
While the tvN series wrapped up its first season with its third-highest viewership rating for the entire run, fans are looking forward to the cast returning with season 2.
Unfortunately, the broadcast network has yet to release an official statement noting the fantasy series will be renewed and return for its second season.
While the whole K-drama fandom awaits tvN's green light, here are the current and upcoming projects of "Bulgasal: Immortal Souls" cast this 2022.
