SBS introduces the complete cast of the upcoming K-drama "Cheer-Up," featuring "The Penthouse" actress Han Ji Hyun and Lee Eun Saem from "All of Us Are Dead."
Penned by "V.I.P" screenwriter Cha Hye Won and helmed by Han Tae Seop, the new series will be a romantic campus mystery comedy-drama that follows the story of students at the 50-year-old Yeonhee University.
'Cheer-Up' Unveils Cast Lineup
After months of being in talks with the possible actors who will headline the upcoming series, SBS officially presented the complete cast of "Cheer-Up."
Over the broadcast network's social media, it introduced six celebrities who will be the lead stars in the forthcoming mystery comedy-drama.
Han Ji Hyun and Lee Eun Saem previously confirmed their appearance, while Bae In Hyuk, Kim Hyun Jin, Jang Gyu Ri, and Yang Dong Geun were officially included in the lineup.
There's no doubt that the castings will feature diverse personalities, unique charm and solid acting skills from the cast, raising the viewer's excitement.
In the upcoming series, Han Ji Hyun played Do Hae Yi. She transforms into the rookie member of the Yeonhee cheering squad.
The 19-year-old is a freshman in the theology department and is described as someone with a cheerful and simple personality.

Bae In Hyuk, who starred in "My Roommate Is a Gumiho" and "At a Distance, Spring Is Green," will be the cheering squad's leader, Park Jung Woo, while rookie actor Kim Hyun Jin plays Jin Seon Ho, a Gangnam native and a new member of the team.
Despite being a newbie on the campus, he gains popularity because of his stunning visuals.
On the other hand, Jang Gyu Ri, who also appeared in the hit series "It's Okay to Not be Okay," will be the female leader of the Theia cheering squad. Tae Cho Hee exudes extraordinary and unstoppable charm, making her popular among the students.
Seemingly, Lee Eun Saem will portray Joo Seon Ja, who also joined the cheer squad like her best friend Do Hae Yi.
Lastly, Yang Dong Geun will be the senior member of the team, playing the character of Bae Young Woong.
Following the release of the cast lineup, "Cheer Up" release date is scheduled to hit the small screen in the second half of 2022.
From Villains to Lead Stars
The upcoming K-drama will be Han Ji Hyun's comeback to the small screen after portraying the villain high school student in the popular makjang series "The penthouse."
Her career skyrocketed as viewers saw her versatility and stellar performance as Kim Young Dae's twin sister, Joo Seok Kyung.
On the other hand, another familiar face included in "Cheer Up" is Lee Eun Saem, who catapults to fame after landing the role of mouthy senior high school student Park Mi Jin.
