'Our Blues' Records New Personal Best
For four consecutive weeks, the star-studded drama "Our Blues" enjoyed its all-time high ratings.
Thanks to its gripping plot and amazing cast ensemble, the drama quickly climbed to the top and claimed its spot as the most buzzworthy series of April.
On Sunday, May 1, "Our Blues" released its eighth episode as it closes the first half of the drama.
The latest episode recorded an average nationwide rating of 9.5%, the drama's highest rating yet.
"Our Blues" recovered from its slight dip from the previous episodes, which received 7.7% and 7.9% rating during its sixth and seventh episodes.
In particular, the drama is expected to receive a double digit rating as the drama explores more stories in its second half.
'Our Blues' Episode 8: Bae Hyun Sung, Noh Yoon Seo's Families Fall Apart
As Jung Hyeon (Bae Hyun Sung) and Bang Young Ju (Noh Yoon Seo) fight for their love, their relationships with their beloved fathers crumble right in front of their eyes.
Due to Jung In Kwon (Park Ji Hwan) and Bang Ho Sik's (Choi Young Jun) past altercation, the years of friendship went to waste. From then on, the two could never be left alone in the room together.
Their wrath for one another intensified when their children revealed their current situation to them.
Obviously, they didn't take it well. They both want to abort Bang Young Ju and Hyeon's baby to "not ruin their lives because of a mistake."

To avoid them, Bang Young Ju runs away to save her baby. This draws a huge line that cracks the foundation of her relationship with her father.
At the end of "Our Blues" episode 8, Bang Young Ju and Jung Hyeon apologized for hurting their fathers and making them lonely, but they never apologized for conceiving a child that was the result of their love.
Why 'Our Blues' Is Loved By Many
Unlike many other Korean dramas, "Our Blues" tackles timely and relevant issues that happen in the real world.
Rather than the picture perfect and ideal lives portrayed in many dramas, "Our Blues" gives a sense of resonance and sympathy to viewers who suffered and are still suffering from the same problems that the characters experience.
In addition to that, they unapologetically show the many sides of humans, good or bad, which appeals to viewers.
With that, don't miss "Our Blues" on tvN every Saturday and Sunday at 9:10 p.m. KST.
