As noted by various outlets, various celebrities and A-listers gathered at the funeral hall of Samsung Seoul Hospital as they showed their respect for the award-winning actress.
Celebrities Pay Tribute to the Late Kang Soo Yeon
Spotted at the funeral are Lee Byung Hun, Han Ye Ri, Kim Hye Soo, Moon Geun Young, and Oscar winner and "Parasite" director Bong Joon Ho.

Aside from the said celebrities, the actress' family, relatives, fellow actors, and filmmakers pay their respect in a solemn atmosphere.
The Busan International Film Festival, where the late actress served as festival director from 2015 to 2017, expressed their condolences and mourned the loss of Kang Soo Yeon.
Through their official Facebook post, they shared her significant contribution to the organization and wrote, "Kang contributed to introducing the excellence of Korean cinema to the world... We will never forget her hard work and dedication."
Kang Soo Yeon's Cause of Death
South Korea's entertainment industry was stunned to hear the sad news that the former child star turned award-winning actress had a cardiac arrest on May 5 at her home in Apgujeong, Gangnam, Seoul, around 5 pm.
As noted by Herald Pop, she was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and underwent initial treatment but has never regained consciousness.
After two days at the hospital and still unconscious, Kang Soo Yeon passed away on May 7 at the age of 55.
With the presence of her loving family, her funeral will take place on May 11 and will be broadcast live via the official YouTube channel of the Film Promotion Committee.
Who is Kang Soo Yeon?
She debuted her acting career in 1979 with the historical drama "The Lady from Angukdong."
However, she rose as one of the rising stars with her breakthrough performance in the 1986 movie " The Surrogate Woman," directed by Im Kwon Taek.
Interestingly, Kang Soo Yeon bagged Best Actress Award at the Nantes International Film Festival and was honored with the Volpi Cup Best Actress award at the 1987 Venice International Film Festival, making her the first Korean actress to win the title.
Moreover, her other films and series include "The Circle," "Rainbow Trout," "Scooping Up the Moonlight," and her last appearance is the small screen was the 2001 series "Ladies of the Palace." This also includes Kim Hae Sook as supporting actress and Moon Geun Young as the young Princess Suk Jong.

Meanwhile, Kang Soo Yeon has recently finished her big-screen comeback "JUNG_E" with fellow lead star Kim Hyun Joo and "Glitch" actor Ryu Kyung Soo.
Set to be released sometime this 2022, Kang Soo Yeon's new movie is an action sci-fi film that follows the story of a war that occurred in the 22nd century.
