Moon So Ri and other Korean celebrities and filmmakers mourn the passing of Kang Soo Yeon on her last day of the funeral.
The veteran actress passed away on May 7 at the age of 55, after she was found unconscious at her home in Apgujeong, Gangnam, Seoul, on May 5. She was rushed to the nearest hospital but failed to recover.
According to reports, Kang Soo Yeon's cause of death was intracerebral hemorrhage caused by her collapse.
She died in the presence of her family, and her funeral was at Gangnam Severance Hospital in Gangnam, Seoul.
The unexpected news brought sadness to the entertainment industry, especially her friends and those who have worked alongside the actress throughout her career.
Top stars Lee Byung Hun, Kim Hye Soo, Han Ye Ri, Moon Geun Young, and Oscar winner and "Parasite" director Bong Joon Ho were the first to attend Kang Soo Yeon's funeral.

On May 11, several stars gathered as they paid tribute to the late Kang Soo Yeon.

Yoo Ji Tae hosted the funeral while Moon So Ri delivered a heartfelt eulogy.
According to Ten Asia, the actress delivered her message to Kang Soo Yeon and shared that she heard her passing while at her friend's house and couldn't believe the heartbreaking news.

As Moon So Ri sent an emotional farewell, she mentioned the actress' significant contribution to the industry, adding, "I thought that the world of cinema might not be confined to the earth. Have a movie with many people in the sky. Goodbye, unnie. I will not forget your feelings for Korean films. I will not forget your face and voice."
Lastly, Moon So Ri is hoping to see her in the afterlife and continue to do projects.
"We couldn't do the same work here, but I hope we can do a movie together next time we meet."
Considered among the top-notch actresses in South Korea, Moon So Ri and Kang Soo Yeon both took home Best Actress awards at the Venice Film Festival.
The 47-year-old actress won at the 2002 Venice Film Festival for her movie "Oasis" while Kang Soo Yeon, who was the first actress who bagged the award, won it in 1985 for the film "The Surrogate Woman."
