Before landing the role of Mr. Gu in JTBC's "My Liberation Notes," Son Seok Koo reportedly worked as a CEO of a large distribution company.

The 39-year-old versatile actor is receiving much love from fans after joining the cast of the romance series alongside Lee Min Ki, Lee El, and Kim Ji Won.

Interestingly, viewers are drawn to the on-screen chemistry of Son Seok Koo and Kim Ji Won, who plays Mi Jung, the youngest of the Yeom siblings.

"My Liberation Notes" is just among his forthcoming projects this 2022 and the coming year.

After headlining Netflix's "D.P," Son Seok Koo will reprise his role as First Lieutenant Im Ji Seop for the K-drama's second season.

In addition, he is currently filming the upcoming crime drama series "Casino" with Lee Dong Hwi and "Squid Game" actors Heo Sung Tae and Kim Joo Ryoung.

As for his activities on the big screen, the 39-year-old actor will have two upcoming films. The first is "The Roundup" with Ma Dong Seok and is scheduled to premiere this May 18.

He will also lead the cast of the mystery romance movie "Virus" with Kim Yoon Seok and Bae Doona, who also worked with him in "Sense 8."

Based on the reports, Son Seok Koo's company earned a profit of US$4.6 million in 2016 and owned more than 30% of the company's share.

However, he had to step down from the management activities to focus on his acting career.

Interestingly, one fun fact about Son Seok Koo is that his lifelong dream is to become a documentary director and produce quality content.

This is why he majored in film and art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. When he returned to South Korea, he did theater acting and eventually had his on-screen debut for the 2014 movie "Scarlet Innocence" playing a cameo role as a Casino henchman.
