The production unit of JTBC drama "Insider" starring Kang Ha Neul apologized to the Buddhism community due to the circulating controversy since its premiere.

JTBC drama "Insider" production unit issued an official statement and apology to the Buddhism community.
On June 9, things got heated as The Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism demanded to cancel the broadcast of Kang Ha Neul's comeback drama after the pilot episode blatantly ridiculed and insulted the religion.
In the scene that was released on June 8, gamblers were dressed as monks including Kim Yo Han (Kang Ha Neul), a judicial trainee who becomes an "insider."
In addition to that, the sacred temple of Buddha was disguised to look like a gambling den.

On June 15, the production unit of "Insider" released a statement saying that the whole team visited The Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism and sincerely apologized for the disturbance the drama had caused.
To make up for the damage, the production unit will delete all misleading scenes from the pilot episode, and will also send out an apology regarding the disparagement of monks and Buddhism in episodes 3 and 4.
In particular, the broadcasting of Kang Ha Neul's drama continues without fail, with cautiousness and sensitivity from then on.

"Curtain Call" is slated to premiere in the second half of 2022 on KBS.
