Director Choi Dong Hoon, who is best known for his film "The Thieves," "The Big Swindle," and "Tazza: The High Rollers," returns to filmmaking after seven years.
His new film, "Alien," is a two-part sci-fi film that focuses on the events that occurred after a mysterious time portal was exposed and connected Taoists from the Goryeo Dynasty.
However, the portal connects them to people from the present, who were tasked to hunt an alien prisoner trapped in a human's body.
Joining Ryu Jun Yeol as lead stars are Kim Tae Ri and Kim Woo Bin. The upcoming sci-fi fantasy film will also feature So Ji Sun, "Sky Castle's" Yeom Jung Ah, Jo Woo Jin, Honey Lee, and more.
During the "Alien" press conference, Ryu Jun Yeol gave the media a hilarious answer when he was asked about his differences from Kang Dong Won.

According to a report, the media asked the actor what he thinks is the "biggest difference" between him and Kang Dong Won.
Ryu Jun Yeol responded with a hilarious remark:
"The appearance. Isn't Jeon Woo Chi really good-looking? I focused on that part the most and tenaciously. I worked hard to create my own character as a swordsman."
Ryu Jun Yeol is pertaining to Kang Dong Won's movie "Jeon Woo Chi: The Taoist Wizard" helmed by "Alien" director Choi Dong Hoon. The actor took the role of Jeon Woo Chi, the titular role, the guru who gained his powers by swallowing a Gumiho's bead.

Meanwhile, the "Lost" star played the character Mu Reuk, a Taoist who is eager to get his hands on the legendary sword.
During the media briefing, Ryu Jun Yeol hinted at his character and gave one word that described his role.
"When I talked about the character with the director, I really liked the word 'freeze'. When I looked it up, it was something that was neither this nor that."
'Alien' Release Date and Cast
Besides Ryu Jun Yeol, viewers will also witness the versatility of Kim Tae Ri as she plays the woman who shoots thunder from her hands, Lee Ahn.
Meanwhile, Kim Woo Bin plays Guard, who escorts alien prisoners. Interestingly, this is also his comeback to the big screen after six years since the 2016 movie "Master" was released.
Following the intriguing trailers, teasers, and the recent press conference, "Alien" is set to hit the big screen on July 20.
