Why is Bae Suzy's New Drama 'Anna' Worth Watching?
Directed by Lee Joo Young, who is also the person behind Lee Byung Hun's 2017 movie "A Single Rider," "Anna" follows the story of a mysterious woman who lives a double life.
Lee Yoo Mi, played by Bae Suzy, may look like an ordinary woman working for the hotel owned by Hyun Joo's (Jung Eun Chae) father, but she is set to live a different personality.
Yoo Mi is diagnosed with a psychological disorder called Ripley's syndrome. A person with this tends to have a dissocial personality disorder and often confuses herself with someone as they try to maintain peace of mind.
As for Lee Yoo Mi, she created her alter ego, Anna, and gets caught up living in this lie.
As seen in the still cuts, Anna is far different from Yoo Mi. She exudes grace and elegance, but unfortunately, this is all a lie.
Joining Bae Suzy as the cast of "Anna" is Jung Eun Chae who plays Hyun Joo, Lee Yoo Mi's former boss who lives a perfect life. She is intelligent, wealthy, and stunningly gorgeous, making Lee Yoo Mi jealous of her.
According to an outlet, the actress revealed why she accepted the offer and played Hyun Joo.
She explained that she finds the plot "extremely refreshing" and charming as it illustrates "the double-sided aspects" of the character, making her want to see the story come to life through "Anna."
Besides Bae Suzy and Jung Eun Chae, "Hospital Playlist" actor Kim Joon Han will portray Anna's ambitious husband Ji Hoon while Park Ye Young will be Ji Won, Lee Yoo Mi's best friend.
Following the intriguing teasers, still cuts, and behind-the-scenes, "Anna" is slated to premiere on July 1 via Coupang Play.
