2PM Junho Talks About His Awards
After he finished military service in the first quarter of 2021, Lee Junho immediately received the script for the historical-romance drama "The Red Sleeve."
The drama marked his small-screen return after two years. Lee Junho received enthusiastic responses from the viewers for his noteworthy portrayal of Yi San and King Jeongjo. Thanks to his brilliant performance, he bagged the Best Acting Award in the Television Category and TikTok Popularity Award at the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards.
When asked about what it was like to win major awards at the prestigious award-giving body, 2PM's Junho said that he didn't expect to receive such recognition. He even didn't notice that it was his name that got called. The actor was too stunned to go on stage. But thanks to the presence of his "The Red Sleeve" co-stars, they were able to pacify Junho's nervousness at that moment.
Lee Junho Reveals Why He Chose 'King the Land'
The "Wok of Love" star shared that countless congratulatory messages from his close friends and acquaintances made him happy.
Meanwhile, Lee Junho was asked what made him choose "King the Land" as his next drama. With a short but insightful comment, the 2PM member revealed that he finds it hard to take long breaks in between projects. That's why out of hundred scripts he received, he picked the rom-com drama with SNSD YoonA.
In his past interview, the idol-actor stated that starring in a romantic-comedy drama is something he wants to try.
Lee Junho's 'King the Land' To Premiere on Netflix in 2023
"King the Land," starring Lee Junho and SNSD YoonA, will meet the viewers sometime in 2023.
According to a source, 2PM Junho and SNSD YoonA's first drama together is announced to air in the first half of the year. The news also confirmed that apart from broadcasting company JTBC, the romantic-comedy series is expected to reach a wider audience as it will also be available on the online streaming giant, Netflix.
Earlier in June, the drama's production released a statement announcing that "King the Land" will begin filming in September of this year.
