Nam Joo Hyuk's former classmate came to his defense amid the school violence controversy.
For the past week, the "Start-Up" star has been criticized for an alleged bullying issue during his high school years. Amid the continuing reports regarding Nam Joo Hyuk's controversy, his classmate shed light on the actor's true personality.
Nam Joo Hyuk's Former Classmate Defends the Actor
According to News 1 Korea, a person, who claimed to be the actor's former schoolmate, posted insights regarding the "Twenty-Five Twenty-One" star.
Posted in an online community titled "Nam Joo Hyuk and I are high school classmates" the person introduced himself as someone who is in the same class as the Hallyu actor during their second year.
"I wasn't particularly close friends with Nam Joo Hyuk, but I wanted to tell you about the exact facts from my point of view as his classmate.
He added that he felt proud being classmates with a celebrity but finds it disappointing and unfair that he is being criticized for these allegations.
"I thought it might be presumptuous or exaggerated to write something like this from a position where I wasn't a close friend, but because of a malicious report that cleverly mixes truth and lies with unfounded facts about school violence."
The person, who is named "Mr. A" by the outlet, revealed the reason he wanted to expose the truth.
In an online post, he said that he never saw Nam Joo Hyuk "cursed and assaulted a classmate" suggesting that the allegations were falsely made.

Moreover, the former classmate even spoke about the smartphone incident where the "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" star would bully his schoolmate and use his phone to purchase mobile games.
However, "Mr. A" cleared the issue noting that the actor was not involved in the incident and said, "No one else, including Nam Joo Hyuk, took part in that, and I still remember it because it was an act that crossed the line due to that friend's wrong behavior."
Meanwhile, regarding the fighting incident, the witness revealed that there was no "sparring" but would sometimes do friendly "wrestling'' during breaks like "bumping our bodies against each other" causing no harm to one another.
Nam Joo Hyuk's Agency on Bullying Controversy
Amid the ongoing issue, Nam Joo Hyuk's agency, Management Soop, stood by his side and defended the actor regarding the allegations.
The recent was denying the second accuser's claims, pointing out that they have fact-checked the allegation and found it "groundless."
The news comes after a former classmate claimed that Nam Joo Hyuk used to be a bully when he was in high school and would beat, curse, and get money from fellow students.
This issue was also denied by the agency and did legal action regarding malicious reports.
