Kim Woo Bin Gets Honest About Challenges Encountered in Movie ‘Alien’

Kim Woo Bin is booked and busy for his comeback after starring in "Our Blues" and now a new movie "Alien." The South Korean heartthrob attended the press conference for the sci-fi fantasy film alongside co-stars Ryu Jun Yeol, Kim Tae Ri, So Ji Sub, Jo Woo Jin, Yeom Jung Ah, Kim Eui Sung, and director Choi Dong Hoon. At the media briefing, he shared his experiences filming "Alien" and thoughts about his character.

Kim Woo Bin Dishes Out Challenges on His Role in 'Alien'

The 32-year-old actor shared that playing the role of the Guard who catches an alien prisoner trapped in a human body is quite difficult, considering that he had to play four different identities all at once.

"To portray four different identities, I tried to express the different energy of each one little by little," he explained as obtained by a media outlet.

To give justice to his role, Kim Woo Bin shared how he wanted to illustrate the differences between each and every one.

"Of course, I acted under the director's direction, but I wanted to show their traits well so that the conversation between the characters wouldn't be boring."

"Alien" is a 2 part film that follows the story of a mysterious portal that connects Taoists from the Goryeo Dynasty in hopes of finding the legendary sword at present.

At the same time, a group of people is hunting down alien prisoners that have been imprisoned in a human's body.

Meet the Cast of 'Alien'

Besides the Guard who escorts alien prisoners, the upcoming movie also features Taoist Moo Reuk, played by Ryu Jun Yeol, while Kim Tae Ri portrays Lee Ahn.

Meanwhile, So Ji Sun transformed into detective Moon Do Seok who aliens are chasing.

Yeom Jung Ah and Jo Woo Jin took the role of two gods of Samgak Mountain, Heuk Seol, and Chung Woon.

Last but not least, Kim Eui Sung will be Ja Jang, a mysterious masked man looking for the legendary sword.

Viewers will also see Honey Lee, who will interact with Kim Woo Bin's character. She will play Min Gae In, who is drawn to the Guard's true identity.

Slated to premiere on July 20, "Alien" is helmed by Choi Dong Hoon, the man behind the success of movies such as "The Thieves," "Tazza," and "Assassination."

What's Next for Kim Woo Bin?

After "Our Blues" and Kim Woo Bin's new movie "Alien," he will be returning to the small screen with a webtoon-based K-drama "Black Knight."

The six-part episode Netflix drama is a post-apocalyptic genre series in the year 2071.

Joining Kim Woo Bin are Esom, Song Seung Heon, and Kang Yoo Seok. He will also be reuniting with veteran actor Kim Eui Sung.
