'Alchemy of Souls' Episode 13: Jang Uk Witnesses Soul Shifter's Petrification
In episode 13 of "Alchemy of Souls," Jang Uk (Lee Jae Wook) and Mu Deok (Jung So Min) witness a soul shifter run wild much to Jin Mu's (Jo Jae Yoon) dismay.
To keep his secret, Jin Mu threatens to kill Jang Uk. Thankfully, he summons Crown Prince Go Won (Shin Seung Ho) to ask for help.
Park Jin (Yoo Jun Sang) as well as Royal Queen Go Soon (Choi Kwang Il), who is a soul shifter herself, also rush to Cheonbugwan.
Jang Uk relays how Eunuch Kim (Jeong Ji Sun) ran wild and became a rock, implying that Jin Mu has performed the forbidden sorcery that is the alchemy of souls.
The Royal Queen reveals that the eunuch is with her the night before, surprising everyone. Little does everyone know, the Royal Queen possesses the ice stone.
Thankfully, Park Jin believes Jang Uk and holds further investigation about the matter. Meanwhile, Jinyowon continues to search for Jin Bu Yeon, who's Mu Deok's real identity.
Master Lee Teaches Jang Uk To Catch Fish
Jang Uk soullessly obliges to Master Lee's (Im Chul Soo) invitation to fishing. The two go to Lake Gyeongcheondaeho where golden fishes can be caught.
The thing is, the mages who have mastered Chisu or more are the only ones who can catch the golden fish.
It's not an ordinary sea creature as one's energy flows through the lake, which shakes the energy of the bodies of water.

After many days, Jang Uk improves and finally masters the skills, all thanks to Master Lee's patience and guidance.
Back at Jang Uk's home, Maidservant Kim (Oh Na Ra) holds a memorial service to the spirit of Jang family's good friends Cho Chung and Cho Yeong, who became the legendary Naksu, who died in vain.
Mu Deok Reciprocates Jang Uk's Feelings
Mu Deok avoids touching Jang Uk at all costs in fear of sucking out his energy as she runs wild, much to the latter's delight.
Jang Uk realizes how the woman feels for him, igniting a heart-fluttering feeling inside his chest. He then promises that he'll find the ice stone, the only thing that can save Mu Deok if ever she runs wild.

On the other hand, Jang Uk faces his last opponent in order to retrieve Mu Deok's jade from Go Won.
Everyone in the training center gets surprised as Seo Yul (Hwang Minhyun), one of Jang Uk's best friends, steps up. Seo Yul fights Jang Uk in the final duel with Mu Deok at stake.
