Actor and K-pop icon Rain will make his special appearance in tvN's "Shuroop," which stars Kim Hye Soo. This marks the celebrity's first-ever appearance in a historical series.

Rain To Make Special Appearance in Historical Drama 'Shuroop'

According to Wikitree on August 3, Rain is confirmed to appear in the upcoming drama "Shuroop." To clarify, the report stated that Rain will only have a special appearance and not permanently lead the show.

"Shuroop" showcases the struggle of people during the middle war, in which the troublemakers' princes of the Joseon Dynasty will turn into proper crown princes.

The new series will star veteran actress Kim Hye Soo and actors Choi Won Young and Moon Sang Min. tvN's upcoming historical drama is scheduled to premiere in October. Director Kim Hyun Sik is in charge of the project.

Though it was just a special cameo, fans are already looking forward to seeing actor Jung Ji Hoon (Rain's biological name) in his first historical-themed drama.

tvN's medical-fantasy series "Ghost Doctor" was Rain's latest drama, where he played the role of a genius doctor who was entangled in an unexpected case that changed his life forever. He worked with "Boys Over Flowers" actor Kim Bum and idol-actress Son Na Eun.

Rain as Korean Entertainment Icon

As one of the pillars of Korean wave, the phenomenal star Rain, or Jung Ji Hoon, also solidified his profession as an actor. Thanks to his pivotal role in the hit K-drama "Full House" in 2004 where he teamed up with Song Hye Kyo, lots of doors opened for him to showcase his ever-improving acting skills.

After he got married to Kim Tae Hee in 2017, Rain took a hiatus but eventually returned to the spotlight to resume what he established for his career.

The "Comeback Mister" star has a total of nine K-dramas under his belt since his debut and was able to star in seven different films. Aside from Korea, Rain also made it to Hollywood with his movies "Speed Racer" and "Ninja Assassin."

Since he became active again in show business starting in 2021, Rain expanded his career in hosting and appearing in various variety shows. He starred in two Netflix shows, namely "The Hungry and the Fairy" and "Race to Freedom."
