Fans are dying to see the new episodes of "Alchemy of Souls"! After the drama's one week hiatus, the anticipation of the drama viewers has intensified.
Because of this, theories about how the drama ends arise. Here are some of the interesting theories about Lee Jae Wook and Jung So Min's drama that you should read!
1. The Ice Stone Creator
In the series, the ice stone is one of the most dangerous things that threaten both the mages and human beings' existence.
Daeho was once in an unimaginable drought so powerful mages gathered to perform a ritual to refill the lake with their power. As they perform the ceremony, hail falls from the sky and turns into water.
A piece of the hail didn't melt, and it turned into fire, then stone, and water again-which settled back into its ice form.
With the help of the ice stone, mages can create Soul Ejectors which can be used to perform Alchemy of Souls-a kind of magic that causes chaos.
Many fans still couldn't grasp the power that the ice stone holds and who currently possesses it, but fans theorize that Master Seo Gyeong's love letter Jang Uk (Lee Jae Wook) once read is the key to capture the ice stone.
According to fans, the ice stone is a construct and to truly create powerful spells, one must be able to read the love letter that captivates the heart of the greatest mage in Daeho.
2. Jin Bu Yeon Trapped Naksu's Soul
Since Naksu (Go Yoon Jung) switched souls with Mu Deok (Jung So Min)-who was revealed to be the missing Jin Bu Yeon-she has lived a lackluster life as a servant to Jang Uk.
As a soul shifter, she needed to be cautious about her movements, especially when there are mages who hunt down her kind inside Songrim.
Jang Uk, Seo Yul (Hwang Minhyun) and Master Lee (Im Chul Soo) are the only ones that know about her true identity.
In episode 16 of "Alchemy of Souls," it was revealed that Mu Deok is the missing heir to the Jin clan as she would always feel the surge of energy whenever she's at Jinyowon.
Her sister Jin Cho Yeon (Oh My Girl Arin), who doesn't know her true identity, talks about how their mother never stopped looking for her.
She also reveals that Jin priestesses are much more powerful than any mage from Daeho as they can trap souls inside one's body and seal them there forever.

With this, fans speculate that Naksu and Mu Deok never switched souls-only trapped inside the latter's body.
In episode 6, Mu Deok sees a different kind of Mu Deok inside the Mirror of Longing. Fans theorize that it was Jin Bu Yeon confirming that she trapped them both inside her body.
Since she's blind and far away from home, she uses Mu Deok's body as a vessel to travel, coupled with Naksu's intelligence and power to know who threw her away to the abyss.
3. Mu Deok To Never Run Wild Despite Being Soul Shifter
In line with the second theory, fans speculate that Jin Bu Yeon is born with the ice stone which will refrain her from running wild.
In the drama, Jin Mu (Jo Jae Yoon) used her to harness the power of the ice stone before she disappeared.
Jin Mu is a half-brother of Jin Bu Yeon's mother. He is also the only one that knows the truth about her birth: she had unique abilities and was born after 13 months on a day Jang Uk's father picked.

It was revealed that Jin Bu Yeon was dead inside her mother's womb and instead of letting her go, Jang Uk's father used the ice stone to bring her back to life, thus she was born using the alchemy of souls.
Even more so, she was born with the ice stone herself. With that said, viewers theorize that Mu Deok will never run wild as a soul shifter as she has a piece of the most powerful stone inside her.
