Undeniably one of the biggest K-series, the 9-part episode series gets the green light after gaming massive popularity following its debut in September 2021.
A year after it was released and following the confirmation of "Squid Game" season 2, Lee Jung Jae drops hints at what to expect in the highly anticipated sequel.

According to an outlet, the renowned actor appeared as a guest in KBS 1TV's "News Line" where he talked about the current status of the series.
During the interview, Lee Jung Jae revealed that the production has begun with the script.

He heard that they are in discussion about what kind of games they will feature for the sequel as well as the characters who will play the game.
When asked about the possible difference between the first and second installment, the actor shared his thoughts and said "I don't think Season 2 is better than Season 1, but I still think it would be great if I could give fun and emotion to those who enjoyed Season 1," adding that the team and actors "have to work hard for better content."
'Squid Game' Season 2: Returning Characters What We Know So Far
Back in June, Netflix confirmed the renewal of the thriller K-drama, saying that "Squid Game" is officially coming, along with an intriguing teaser featuring the iconic doll.
In addition, the streaming giant also shared a note from the creator and director of the series, Hwang Dong Hyuk.
He started his message by saying that it took him 12 years to create the series but it only took 12 days "for Squid Game to become the most popular Netflix series ever."
With this, he expressed his gratitude to millions of viewers who supported "Squid Game."
Moreover, he also announced the return of Seong Gi Hoon, played by Lee Jung Jae, and the Front Man, portrayed by Lee Byung Hun.
Interestingly, the director also hints at the new villain, introducing Young-hee's boyfriend Cheoul-su.
Lastly, Hwang Dong Hyuk also teased fans with a possible comeback of Gong Yoo, who played the mysterious agent in "Squid Game."

After bagging a slew of international recognitions, "Squid Game" continues to dominate the global entertainment scene after scoring 14 nods at the Emmy Awards 2022.
In an interview with the director via The Hollywood Reporter, Hwang Dong Hyuk was asked which of it he is especially proud of.
The director said he is proud of all 14 nominations, but chose Park Hae Soo being nominated for Best Supporting Actor.
He shared that the actor, who also starred in "Money Heist Korea," has been campaigning with them for a very long time, and finally, he got his first-ever solo nomination.
"I was so happy that such a prestigious awards organization recognized his great work," he added.
