Yoon Eun Hye Talks About the Backlash She Received During Her Rookie Days
Yoon Eun Hye made a guest appearance in the Korean variety show "Just Come Out," which aired on September 7 on Naver's NOW. She had a sincere conversation with host-comedian Kang Ho Dong.

In the middle of their talk, Kang Ho Dong mentioned the issue that happened when MBC's "Princess Hours" aired in 2006. During that time, the public posted articles online, expressing their thoughts and opposing the casting of Yoon Eun Hye. They also pointed out that she did not suit the role of Shin Chae Kyung, the female lead of the famous series.
Some said that Eun Hye did not suit the image of the drama's character in the webtoon.
To recall, the "Lie To Me" lead star began reading the articles about the "Casting Controversy."
Later on, she revealed the story behind it.
Yoon Eun Hye Got Lead Role in 'Princess Hours' Without Any Acting Experience
The celebrity said her manager told her to go to an audition. At that time, though she didn't know what kind of drama she was auditioning for, Yoon Eun Hye talked about her family story in front of the director. Unlike the usual audition, Yoon Eun Hye went home after spending the entire audition talking about her life.
Then it turned out that the actress' life story was similar to the lead character of the series. The former Baby V.O.X member confessed that she got chosen as the lead for "Princess Hours" like that. According to her:
"They chose me as the heroine without any acting experience. After that, I began hearing about the 'casting controversy.'"
Yoon Eun Hye continued to share her sentiments about the past issue. And instead of giving up due to the backlash, the actress went on:
"I didn't want to give up, and the thought of wanting to try it was strangely exciting."
"Just Come Out" host Kang Ho Dong said that fortunately, as soon as "Princess Hours" aired, the controversy disappeared.
The 37-year-old actress then recalled how the drama became a success amidst the negativities. The fact that the series' ratings went up proved that she made the right decision to do the project.
Yoon Eun Hye added that even though she didn't have any acting experience, the director was very kind and considerate of her. She added that ever since starring in "Princess Hours," Yoon Eun Hye had a good career in acting and received lots of good scripts too, which made her standards higher.
