Lee Jung Jae lands his first ever Hollywood project after being cast as the lead star in the "Star Wars" series. According to a report, the South Korean star will join the upcoming mystery-thriller "The Acolyte" from Lucasfilm.

'Star Wars' Series 'The Acolyte: What We Need to Know About Lee Jung Jae's First Hollywood Project
It can be recalled that Disney+ announced the series in December 2020 which follows the story of "emerging Dark Side powers in the final days of the High Republic era."
In the same report, Lee Jung Jae will be headlining the series along with A-listers Amandla Steinberg and Jodie Turner-Smith.
Meanwhile, "Russian Doll" writer and director Leslye Headland will be the director, writer, exec producer, and showrunner of the "Star Wars" series, "The Acolyte."
As for the South Korean star, the details for his new character have not yet been revealed.
Interestingly, besides the "Squid Game" star, several K-stars made their Hollywood debut. It includes Claudia Kim for "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald," followed by Ma Dong Seok in "The Eternals," Park Seo Joon for the upcoming MCU installment "The Marvels" and Jung Ho Yeon for the movie "The Governesses."

In addition, Lee Jung Jae is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as the debt-ridden Seong Gi Hoon a.k.a player 456 in "Squid Game" while co-star Jung Ho Yeon scored a nod for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

Adding to the list of Lee Jung Jae's global achievements, the American Academy of TV Arts and Sciences is the list of presenters for the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards.
The 49-year-old actor and Jung Ho Yeon are expected to walk on stage for their Emmys debut as presenters.
Besides his Emmys 2022 appearance, Lee Jung Jae successfully premiered his movie "Hunt" with Jung Woo Sung which was also his directorial debut.
The espionage action film took the top spot at the Korean box office and racked up 4 million viewers since it had its theatrical release on August 10.
