Kim Min Gwi returns to the small screen after a year since his last television appearance. He joined veteran stars Ha Jung Woo, Hwang Jung Min and more in the drug-centered Netflix series "Narco-Saints."
It is a new drama currently dominating the Hallyu scene. Keep on reading to know more.
'Narco-Saints' On Why Kim Min Gwi's Screen Time Was Cut Short
Netflix series "Narco-Saints," which aired earlier this month, stirs buzz in the entertainment scene with its relevant and gripping storyline.
The drama tells the unfortunate story of a humble businessman who becomes the major pawn of the National Intelligence Service to take down a drug lord residing in Suriname.
"Narco-Saints" boasts its star-studded cast including Ha Jung Woo, Hwang Jung Min, Park Hae Soo, Jo Woo Jin, Yoo Yeon Seok and more.
The Netflix series also stars "Nevertheless" actor Kim Min Gwi. On September 19, a member of the production unit revealed that the screen time of the actor in "Narco-Saints" had been significantly cut short.
In July of 2021, Kim Min Gwi's ex-girlfriend revealed that the actor had cheated on her multiple times, and even abused her verbally over the course of their relationship.
"Kim Min Gwi's scandal broke out when we were filming in Jeju Island in the summer last year," a staff member revealed. "After deliberation, we decided to reduce a lot of sequences in his appearance."

The production unit reasoned that the reduction of his scenes is a just decision as they could have terminated the contract with the actor immediately.
However, Kim Min Gwi's character is quite important to the plot, which is why removing a huge chunk of his participation is not an option.
Meanwhile, the actor's dramas like "Nevertheless," "L.U.C.A.: The Beginning" and "Whispering Corridors 6: The Humming" were greatly affected. Some of them even deleted the actor's scene and character completely.
Kim Min Gwi apologized for his behavior after the issue had died down, but the fans had gone cold towards him, leaving his career totalled.
'Narco-Saints' Becomes Netflix's Most Watched Series
After the drama's release, Flix Patrol announced that Ha Jung Woo's "Narco-Saints" rose from the bottom to the No. 3 spot on September 13.
The Netflix series even eclipsed the success of the highest rated court drama "Extraordinary Attorney Woo."
Currently, "Narco-Saints" is one of the most watched series in many foreign countries including Thailand, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Bahamas, Morocco and Singapore.
