Park Hae Soo opens up about his true feelings towards the highly anticipated "Squid Game 2" and talks about Director Hwang Dong Hyuk's "regrets" about some of the characters.

In a report obtained by SBS News, the versatile star sat down with the media and shared his thoughts about the hit Netflix series.

Park Hae Soo 'Wants' To Reprise His Role in 'Squid Game'

Released in September 2021, "Squid Game" immediately became one of the most talked about TV shows for months.

In the K-drama, Park Hae Soo took the role of the antagonist Cho Sang Woo a.k.a player no. 218. He is among the 456 debt ridden participants and Seung Gi Hoon's (Lee Jung Jae) childhood friend.

While the nine-part episode series is officially getting renewed and has announced three stars returning for the second season, Park Hae Soo admitted that he hopes that Director Hwang Dong Hyuk would include him as one of the cast.

Keeping his fingers crossed, he said, "I don't know how the story is being written at the moment, but I do hope that director Hwang will include me in the next season as one of the characters."

Moreover, he is also "looking forward to it" but as of the moment, the director and creator "hasn't said anything about it" yet.

It can be recalled that his character, Cho Sang Woo died in the latter episode after killing one of the participants and having the last task against Seung Gi Hoon.

Oin the other hand, Park Hae Soo shared that they have "thrown in lots of ideas" to the director, one of which is introducing the twins of the original characters.

However, he tells the media that it is still up with the director as he concludes the script for the series.

The actor also reacted to the director's previous statement regarding his "regrets" of killing "such beloved characters in "Squid Game," however he says that the renowned filmmaker didn't think that the series would be a huge hit and would be writing a sequel for it.

In addition, Park hae Soo revealed that they asked Director Hwang Dong Hyuk about it and said that the "Squid Game" creator "couldn't really give answers" but instead, he "felt very sad that he killed our characters."

However, he thought that the Netflix series would make it far and would win international and not to mention prestigious ceremonies if the "characters were still alive though. I feel like we've left the series well."

Despite these, Park Hae Soo believes that the award winning filmmaker "will do a great job at creating new characters."

While viewers witness Park Hae Soo amazing acting skills in "Squid Game," the actor also appeared in blockbuster series like "Money Heist: Korea" and his recent, "Narco-Saints."
