Following the confirmation of the much-awaited "Uncanny Counter" season 2, the sequel will have its new villain through Jin Seon Kyu.
In an exclusive report cited by JTBC news, the versatile star will join as one of the cast.
Jin Seon Kyu Joins as the New Villain in 'Uncanny Counter' Season 2
Jin Seon Kyu's agency announced that the actor "will appear in Season 2 of 'Uncanny Counter.'"
The actor's versatility and solid stage experience will add entertainment and excitement to the sequel as he plays the antagonist.
It can be recalled that season 1's villain is played by Lee Hong Nae who took the role of evil spirit host Ji Chung Shin, now, with Jin Seon Kyu joining the "Uncanny Counter" season 2 cast, viewers could expect thrilling moments as he meets demon hunters called Counters.
On the other hand, Jin Seon Kyu also plays the new antagonist in Hyun Bin and Yoo hae Jin's movie "Confidential Assignment 2."
Apart from the new villain, the "'Uncanny Counter" sequel also features familiar faces from season 1.
Kim Sejeong, Yu Jun Sang, Jo Byung Gyu, and Yum Hye Ran will reunite for the second installment as they reprise their respective roles.
'Uncanny Counter' Season 2: Cast, Release Date, and What We Know So Far
Released in November 2020, "Uncanny Counter" is the highest viewership rating among all-time OCN originals after the finale episode recorded an average nationwide rating of 11 percent.
In January 2021, as viewers patiently await for season 2, drama officials, through media outlets, announce plans for the upcoming sequel back in January 2021.
Now, the production of "Uncanny Counter" season 2 has reportedly begun with the first script reading scheduled for this October while filming is expected to happen in November.

Apart from the production plans and cast lineup, the upcoming season is also expected to include Korean counters working together with overseas counters as they defeat new enemies.
Jo Byung Gyu returns as So Moon, a high school student with supernatural powers while Kim Sejeong plays Do Ha Na, who has the ability to sense evil spirits from kilometers away.
Yoo Joon Sang is also making a comeback as Ga Mo Tak, a former police officer who loses his memory due to an accident but finally recovers with incredible strength.
Lastly, Yeom Hye Ran reprises her role as Chu Mae Ok, a chef of the noodle restaurant and a counter with special healing abilities, while Ahn Suk Hwan plays the older Counter Choi Jang Mool.
Interestingly, besides the five main cast members reprising their roles and the new villain, "Uncanny Counter" season 2 will also feature new faces Kim Hi Eo Ra, who played Secretary Tae in "Bad Prosecutor."
The rookie actress, who made her debut in "Beyond Evil" also made a cameo in "Hospital Playlist" and "Forecasting Love and Weather."
