"Emergency Declaration" which boasts a star-studded cast including Lee Byung Hun, Im Siwan, Song Kang Ho and more, is among the 2022 K-movies that reached millions of viewers.
There's no doubt why the action-thriller film has surpassed 2 million audiences given the movie featured a roster of talented stars as well as an interesting plot that kept viewers at the edge of their seats.
Prior to its theatrical release, it was screened at the 74th Cannes Film Festival in July 2021 for the out-of-competition section.
In a report cited by Korea Herald, Song Kang Ho expressed his excitement as the public will get to watch "Emergency Declaration" in theaters.
"It has been over two years since we finished filming," he said, adding "We had to delay the release twice due to COVID-19. I am glad that we can finally present our film," he said during the movie's press conference.
In addition, director Han Jae Rim also spoke about the realistic-looking set, specifically the huge airplane seen in the movie.
"We brought over an airplane frame from Hollywood and our art team decorated it to make it look realistic and also look like a Korean airplane," he said.

Lee Byung Hun
While "'Emergency Declaration" is his big-screen comeback, Lee Byung Hun is set to appear in multiple projects in 2023.
It includes his return as The Frontman in "Squid Game 2" together with Lee Jung Jae as Seong Gi Hun and possibly Gong Yoo who took the role of mysterious sales agent.
He is also in talks to reunite with Shin Min Ah, and Han Ji Min for the drama series "Here" alongside Nam Joo Hyuk and Bae Sung Woo.
As for movies, Lee Byung Hun's upcoming films include the star-studded "Concrete Utopia."
Im Siwan
Among the main characters in "Emergency Declaration," Im Siwan plays a mysterious role as he takes on Ryu Jin Seok, one of the passengers.
After the aviation-themed film, he will be returning with a new movie "Stolen Identity."

Meanwhile, for his K-drama comeback, Im Siwan will return in "Tracer" season 2 reprising his role as Hwang Dong Joo.
Jeon Do Yeon
Like her fellow co-stars in "Emergency Declaration," Jeon Do Yeon is also booked and busy with upcoming series and movies.
The award-winning actress will headline an action thriller K-drama "Kill Bok Soon" opposite DSol Kyung Gu. Interestingly, Esom and Goo Kyo Hwan will also be joining as supporting cast.
Adding to the list of Jeon Do Yeon's drama this 2023 is tvN's rom-com "Ilta Scandal" with "Hospital Playlist" actor Jung Kyung Ho.
Song Kang Ho
While Song Kang Ho headlines two blockbuster films this 2022, referring to "Broker" and "'Emergency Declaration," the veteran actor will have his K-drama debut.
Song Kang Ho will star in "Uncle Samsik" playing the titular role with Byun Yo Han, Lee Kyu Hyung and Seo Hyun Woo.
