Yoo Ah In recently made headlines after the award-winning star gets investigated by the police for drug use. It comes after he was the person behind the TV Chosun's "News9" blind item, saying that a top Korean actor had undergone a police probe over the alleged use of propofol.
Propofol is a sleep inducer and anesthetic and it is illegal in South Korea to use it outside of surgical procedures. According to Mayo Clinic, propofol is a sedative used to help a patient relax or sleep before and during surgery and is also used as an anesthetic in hospitals.
However, as the investigation continues amid Yoo Ah In's drug issue, netizens are divided, and with fans defending the actor while some criticize him.
Fans Express Support for Yoo Ah In, Others See Him as 'Negative Influence'
Netizens took to Twitter as they express support for Yoo Ah In as the actor faced a probe due to propofol use.
In one post, the user hoped that the actor "gets the best help he needs" adding that fans will be supporting him as "he does NOT do crimes against humanity."
Moreover, the person also pointed out that the actor didn't get involved in any form of abuse or murder.
On the other hand, one felt bad for Yoo Ah In for being blacklisted from the industry and now being canceled by brands he endorses.
To recall, at the height of the issue, brands have pulled out of Yoo Ah In's endorsement.

As stated by a media outlet, fashion brand platform MUSINSA has removed traces of the actor from its all advertising campaigns. He used to be the face of the brand along with the AI model MU Ah In.
The same goes for other companies like the pharmaceutical brand I'm Vita and outdoor brand NEPA, which seemed to drop Yoo Ah In from all the advertisements including photos of him on his YouTube channel and homepage.
Yoo Ah In's Drug Scandal
On February 9, Yoo Ah In's agency, United Artists Agency (UAA) responded to the issue and confirmed that the actor is currently being investigated by the authorities.
Moreover, the label also mentioned that the "Seoul Vibe" star is "actively cooperating in all investigations" adding that they "plan to proactively address the aspects that are a problem."
Following the response of his agency, police revealed the result of his urine test, and tested positive for marijuana use.
As for the propofol, authorities are waiting for the results of his hair test to confirm whether he used the sedative or not.
Meanwhile, as the investigation continues, Yoo Ah In is barred from leaving the country. It was after the police imposed a travel ban on the actor.
