Gong Yoo & Seo Hyun Jin Rumored To Lead New Romance K-Drama 'Trunk'

According to a news cited by TV Daily on February 20, labelmates Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin are reported to potentially unite in Netflix's forthcoming drama "Trunk."

On the same day, their agency Management SOOP confirmed that both stars received offers to headline the project and are positively reviewing it.

In reference to their possible collaboration, "Trunk" is said to be one of Netflix's soon-to-release dramas that tells about a fixed-term marriage service company NM that sets up marriage life based on the spouse's liking or desires.

While the lead stars are yet to be confirmed, the upcoming series is to be helmed by brilliant director Kim Gyu Tae, who is the creative mind behind the famous dramas "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo," "It's Okay, That's Love," "Live," and his recent work "Our Blues." He will be joined by "Hwarang" writer Park Eun Young.

In addition to the reports, Seo Hyun Jin is courted to portray Noh In Ji, NM's deputy head who chooses to remain single even though her career revolves around marriage.

Meanwhile, opposite her is Gong Yoo, who is in talks to play the role of a music producer, Han Jung Won, who has a different outlook on marriage.

Seo Hyun Jin won Best Actress at the 2022 SBS Drama Awards for her performance in her comeback series "Why Her." In the same year, she also returned to the big screen through the legal-mystery movie "Cassiopeia." As of this writing, "Trunk" is her first drama offer that made it to the news.

On the other hand, Gong Yoo is enjoying some spontaneous time behind the camera and sometimes releases photos of his previous advertisement pictorials. The "Goblin" lead star might also make his return in the second installment of Netflix's "Squid Game."
