The debut episode of KBS's new Monday-Tuesday drama "Prime Minister And I" received lower ratings than expected.
According to Nielsen Korea's ratings, the drama received 5.9% in average ratings, ranking third among the Monday-Tuesday dramas of the three major non-cable stations. While it received better numbers than the 4.1% rating of the finale of its predecessor "Future's Choice", "Prime Minister And I" still failed to rank higher than MBC's "Empress Ki", which still reigns at the top with its 20.2% rating, and SBS's "One Warm Word", which came second with 6.8%.
In other news, as a form of support towards Girls' Generation's Yoona in her new drama, her fans from China took it upon themselves to advertise "Prime Minister And I" through posting advertisements in supermarkets across Seongsu, Cheonggyecheon and Yeongdeungpo E-mart stores in Seoul. Photos of the fan project were seen online, and many were touched at the gesture of her fans.
"Prime Minister And I" follows the story of rookie reporter Nam Da Jung and her romance with Prime Minister Kwon Yul (Lee Bum Soo) as she becomes the new mother to his three young children. The drama also features Yoon Shi Yoon, Chae Jung And and Ryu Jin as supporting characters.
Catch "Prime Minister And I" on KBS every Mondays and Tuesdays.
