Unbeknownst to many, Joo Won began his acting career through musicals. The actor enjoyed singing and dancing, and has appeared in numerous plays.

After stepping into college, years before he made his acting debut, his father came up with his stage name for when he began his career.

The actor's father told him to use his name "Joo Won" as a stage name as it sounds similar to "God-willing" when pronounced. Such a beautiful name, isn't it?
