Youn Yuh Jung talks about starting from the bottom and becoming a brand ambassador at 75.
The Oscar-winning actress appeared as a guest at JaeJae's special New York episode for her YouTube show MMTG, where she spoke about the challenges in life and now that she is among the legendary stars in South Korea.
During her appearance, Youn Yuh Jung showed her motherly side and even fixed JaeJae's clothes.
As the interview began, the award-winning top star shared her thoughts on getting brand deals at her age and being able to raise her sons on her own.
Youn Yuh Jung on Being Brand Ambassador at 75
Youn Yuh Jung did not just become the first South Korean actress to win an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her movie "Minari," but also became one of the ambassadors for the skincare brand Sulwhasoo.
As reported by an outlet, the Oscar winner says she couldn't believe she got an offer for a brand at her age.
"When I first got the offer, I said, 'You want me to be a makeup model?'" she narrated.
Although she was grateful to represent the brand, Youn Yuh Jung reminded the company about her age, and said, "It's an honor for me, but do you know how old I am?' I thought makeup models had to be pretty and young," adding, "I think that's why there are stereotypes."
To recall, Youn Yuh Jung graced the Sulwhasoo event on March 29 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
The actress and BLACKPINK's Rosé were the event's hosts.

Apart from the two South Korean stars, Chinese actress Jia Song, "Emily in Paris" star Ashley Park, and more attended the gathering.
As noted by Vogue, Youn Yuh Jung showed her charm and joked about how happy she was after being in a room where people finally knew how to pronounce her name.

As the interview with JaeJae continued, the 75-year-old South Korean top star mentioned that her success did not happen overnight and was a result of perseverance.
She recalled one of her essay piece back in elementary school, where she wrote about living in a house with no kitchen. Titled "The Kitchen in My House," she wrote about her experience living in a rented room after her father passed away.
"I started with the words: 'Our house doesn't have a kitchen.' Because it was a rented room, there was no kitchen," she said.
Now, Youn Yuh Jung's net worth is around $1 to $2 million, has back-to-back projects and splits her time between South Korea and the United States.
Youn Yuh Jung also shared that she is in New York most of the time to see her sons.
The actress then proudly mentioned that she paid for everything that her kids needed for school since they studied at Columbia University and NYU.
From college tuition fees to their living and food expenses, Youn Yuh Jung said she was the one who put them through college.
