'Squid Game' Announces Production of New Installment
On May 16, reports about the production of a new season for "Squid Game" were made, much to fans' excitement.
According to OSEN News, Netflix Korea's "Squid Game" discussed the return of the work in worldwide television. The production unit plans to film Season 2 and Season 3 simultaneously and release it sequentially within the year.
Hwang Dong Hyuk, the director and screenwriter of "Squid Game," stated that the team is working hard to create a seasonal drama that will satisfy the viewers' satisfaction and expectations.
The new seasons of "Squid Game" will produce a total of 13 episodes however, there's no announcement yet whether Season 2 will consist of six episodes while Season 3 will carry seven.

On the other hand, the test shoot for Season 2 has begun. Filming will officially start in July this year which is expected to last until 10 months with 80% of the drama's original cast.
Furthermore, Hwang Dong Hyuk stated that the story will pick up where Season 1 left off and will center around Lee Jung Jae and Lee Byung Hun's stories.
What To Expect From Upcoming Seasons Of 'Squid Game'
Netflix's "Squid Game" has become a global syndrome just weeks after its release.
The drama has made around 900 million dollars in profit, and has enjoyed massive attention from fans all around the world.
"Squid Game" is a survival series that follows people who risk their entire lives participating in a deadly competition to win the whopping prize of 37 million USD.
The drama earned high praises from viewers and critics alike for its unconventional storyline. Although it was criticized for its gore and violent elements, it still enjoyed huge success.
Lee Jung Jae and Jung Ho Yeon, who headlined the series, received multiple awards at the SAG Award, making history worldwide as the first Asian celebrities to win at the prestigious show.
In addition, it also received 14 nominations at the Emmy Awards. With this, fans' expectations are through the roof for Season 2 and Season 3 which are predicted to showcase an enhanced and even gorier premise than its predecessor.
It's also expected to tie all the loose ends between Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun and Wi Ha Joon who left hundreds of questions during Season 1.
