Lee Sang Woo dished on his relationship with wife Kim So Yeon, and recalled their most memorable date.
During his recent appearance on MBC's talk show "Radio Star," along with Park Hyo Joon, Solbi, and Kim Ah Young, the actor talked about his marriage and his last K-drama "Red Balloon."
Lee Sang Woo Did THIS for His Role in 'Red Balloon'
While the talk show is to air its full episode on June 7, the teaser hinted at Lee Sang Woo's intense preparation for his role as dermatologist Go Cha Won in the recently-ended TV Chosun series.
As obtained by a media outlet, the 43-year-old actor revealed that he was forced to go on a diet while filming "Red Balloon."
In the K-drama, he played as Han Ba Da's (Hong Soo Hyun) husband, who works as a dermatologist. It was the path chosen by his parents. During his marriage, he knew that his wife was having a hard time due to his mother.
As mentioned by SBS News, Kim So Yeon admitted that she had some hesitation joining "The Penthouse: War in Life" and portraying the villainous role of Cheon Seo Jin.
However, she revealed that it was her husband who encouraged her to accept the role.
"When I was cast in 'The Penthouse: War in Life,' I was extremely worried. I was scared that I might not be able to play Cheon Seo Jin well. At that time, Sang Woo was like, 'Think of it as a challenge. Why be so afraid of a challenge?'" she recalled.
Lo and behold, her performance in the SBS series brought her various awards, like Best Actress in Baeksang Arts Awrads 2021, and a Daesang or Grand Prize recognition at the 2021 SBS Drama Awards.
