Police have released another bombshell piece of information regarding Yoo Ah In's drug case.

Following the prosecution hearings and investigation, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Drug Crime Investigation Unit raised suspicion that one of the actor's acquaintances had fled the country amid the ongoing probe.

In a report cited by a local media outlet, the authorities say that a certain YouTuber Yang, left South Korea last month.

In addition, the said personality allegedly received money from Yoo Ah In and flew to France.

The said individual is among the acquaintances that police are considering as witnesses to Yoo Ah In's drug case.

However, due to the fact that the person left Korea and refused to comply with the investigation, authorities booked YouTuber Yang on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.

In addition, he is also considered a "suspect" for failing to cooperate with the investigation.

However, following the update regarding Yoo Ah In's drug case, authorities pointed out that the information regarding YouTuber Yang needs further confirmation and had to look into details to determine whether the transferred money came from the actor.

Months after the news broke regarding Yoo Ah In's involvement with illegal substances, the police continue to dig deep into the case.

On June 9, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency charged the "Seoul Vibe" star for taking two additional drugs in violation of the Narcotics Control Act.

According to a report, Yoo Ah In is suspected of taking midazolam, which is mainly used for general anesthesia, while the second one is alprazolam, a type of medication for insomnia.

As mentioned by a health website, one of the adverse and fatal side effects of midazolam is having breathing problems such as "shallow, slowed, or temporarily stopped breathing that may lead to permanent brain injury or death."

On the other hand, alprazolam's side effects include shortness of breath, seizures, a severe skin rash, confusion, problems with speech, and problems with coordination or balance.

To recall, Yoo Ah In has tested positive for four types of drugs.

After undergoing hair strand and urine tests, it was found out that he is using marijuana, cocaine, ketamine, and propofol, which he reportedly injected 73 times in a year.

A month later, police also suspect that he is using zolpidem, a substance used to treat severe insomnia and patients with difficulty starting sleep that is highly addictive.

Since February of this year, Yoo Ah In has been under investigation by the police.

It was after the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety became suspicious of the actor's prescription purchases of propofol.

As mentioned, it was found out that he has been using the drugs since 2021.

Besides the scandal-ridden actor, authorities have also investigated 20 others, including medical professionals and the actor's acquaintances.
