During the streaming platform's activity in Brazil called the Tudum Global Fan Event, Netflix announced exclusive details for the new "Squid Game" season. The long wait is over for fans as Netflix finally dropped the first teaser, featuring the season 2 cast.

Showcasing a mix of returning and new characters, the upcoming season boasts a roster of top stars and award-winning actors.

Of course, Lee Jung Jae and Lee Byung Hun will be reprising their roles as Seong Gi Hun and the Frontman, respectively.

While most of the fans were thrilled to hear about the amazing cast lineup, some appeared disappointed that it did not include a variety of characters.

It was after the public took to online communities to express their dismay regarding the casting.

Although they are looking forward to the upcoming sequel, they noticed that it lacked rookies, veterans, and female actors.

One mentioned that "Squid Game" season 2 only casts male actors in their 30s, 40s, and 50s and isn't featuring rookie actors anymore.

As for others, they questioned why the sequel didn't introduce female characters.

However, others are hoping that "Squid Game" season 2 will introduce a wider variety of cast members as the show nears its premiere.

Director Hwang Dong Hyuk, previously revealed that they aim to release the sequel in 2024.

Interesting, a media outlet, cited that Netflix is set to have its script reading in the third week of June, followed by filming in July.
