Kim Sun Young went honest as she talked about her previous roles, and how they affected her acting career.

Known as one of the K-drama ahjummas, the versatile actress has played several characters featuring middle-aged roles. From "Reply 1988" as Go Kyung Pyo's mother, to the "Crash Course in Romance" villain, Kim Sun Young said her characters have one thing in common.

During her appearance in the YouTube series "Song Yoon Ah by PDC," Kim Sun Young got emotional as she shared her disappointments and passion for acting.

Expressing her deep passion for her craft and how she is "in love" and "can't get enough of acting," she said that she kept getting similar roles after "When the Camellia Blooms" and "Crash Landing on You."

"After playing a middle-aged woman twice in a row, that image must've settled with me," she said.

However, Kim Sun Young clarified that she "does not have a problem with middle-aged women's roles" and is thankful for the project because it could be a character with "substance."

Unfortunately, her "roles never go outside of the marketplace."

She added, "I can't keep repeating what I've done before."

Regardless of whether it's a supporting role or a bit part, Kim Sung Young never fails to deliver an amazing performance as she gives life to every role.

To recall, she won the Best Supporting Actress Award at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards for playing the iconic character, NK village president Na Wol Seok, in "Crash Landing on You."

As the conversation continued, the award-winning actress confessed that she did blame herself and others for it, and unfortunately, it caused her to "fall into a slight depression."

"I took it out on myself a lot because there were no limits to how harsh I could be on myself. When I was alone, I crawled way deep into a hole," she said.

Showing her deep love for acting, Kim Sun Young wished that she gets more opportunities and the chance to showcase her talent in more challenging roles.
