IU, Song Hye Kyo Make Generous Donation as Part of Ice Bucket Challenge 2023

South Korean top stars IU and Song Hye Kyo made a heartfelt action after participating in the ice bucket challenge 2023.

Both actresses expressed willingness to become part of the challenge, spreading good cause for Seungil Hope Foundation.

Song He Kyo Joins the Ice Bucket Challenge 2023 After Being Nominated by Lee Do Hyun

On Song Hye Kyo's Instagram, the award-winning actress posted a heartfelt message saying that she was delighted to become part of the activity.

Following Song Hye Kyo, singer-actress IU also joined the challenge.

On IU's Instagram, she shared a video where she got drenched in ice-cold water and nominated Jun Suk Heo, Lee Joo Young, and Lee Do Hyun.

Following her post, the Seungil Hope Foundation, posted a special message on their official Instagram, thanking the "Broker" star for her generosity.

"In 2014, 2018, and 2023, IU, who even drank ice water and donated, achieved a Grand Slam. Thank you," the post reads.

In addition, the certificate also indicated IU's donation of 50 million KRW jointly under the name of the fan club, UAENA.

The Ice Bucket Challenge started in August 2014, after patients with ALS inspired communities and eventually spread among celebrities, athletes, and more worldwide.

Meanwhile, the 2023 Challenge in Korea will help Lou Gehrig's disease patients.

Besides IU and Song Hye Kyo, several other stars have participated in the challenge. It includes Jinusean's Sean, Park Bo Gum, Oh My Girl's Mimi, Lee Joo Young, and Lee Young Ji.

What's Next for IU and Song Hye Kyo?

After her back-to-back movies, IU is set to make a K-Drama comeback along with Park Bo Gum for the romance series "You Have Done Well."

Set to be released in 2025, the upcoming K-drama will be IU's return to the small screen after the 2019 series "Hotel Del Luna."

She and Park Bo Gum will be joined by award-winning stars Moon So Ri and Park Hae Joon, who are set to play their older versions.

As for Song Hye Kyo, she is supposed to have an upcoming K-drama with Han So Hee, but it didn't push through after the Hallyu star, along with the director and "My Name" actress, decided not to continue with the series.
