Lim Ji Yeon once again reaped the rewards of her skills after playing Park Yeon Jin in the hit K-drama "The Glory." The actress was among the stars hailed as the new winners at the 2nd Blue Dragon Series Awards.

Winning Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the revenge K-drama "The Glory," Lim Ji Yeon beat other nominees, including Kyung Soo Jin from "Shadow Detective," Lee Elijah from "Decoy," Jung Eun Chae from "Anna," and Kim Joo Ryoung from "Big Bet."

As the 33-year-old star accepted the award, the newly-crowned Best Supporting Actress delivered an unexpected speech.

Expressing her huge gratitude to the staff and the viewers who watched "The Glory," Lim Ji Yeon also thanked co-stars, especially the renowed screenwriter Kim Eun Sook, who penned the amazing series and created the character Park Yeon Jin.

However, she also took the opportunity to apologize for those who have the same name as her character.

"I would like to apologize to the people whose real names are 'Park Yeon Jin," she said, as obtained by a media outlet.

To recall, Lim Ji Yeon took on the role of the viscious villain in "The Glory."

During her high school years, Park Yeon Jin was the ringleader in her friend group who tormented and bullied Moon Dong Eun, played by Song Hye Kyo.

Because of the huge popularity of the K-drama, not to mention Lim Ji Yeon's stellar performance, Park Yeon Jin became a household name, and the line "Yeon Jin-ah" is commonly used in pop culture.

However, due to the negative image of the character, the actress felt bad for those people who were named Park Yeon Jin.

Despite this, Lim Ji Yeon considered the name a blessing to her and felt honored to portray such an iconic character.

Describing it as a destiny, she admitted that she felt "scared" by the overwhelming "love and support" by the public but promised to "stand up and strive to become an even more passionate and skilled actress."

Prior to the 2nd Blue Dragon Series Awards, Lim Ji Yeon also won the Best Supporting Actress category at the Baeksang Arts Awards 2022 for the same role.

After "The Glory," the actress headlines back-to-back K-dramas.

Lim Ji Yeon recently wrapped up the thriller mystery K-drama "Lies Hidden in My Garden" with Kim Tae Hee and will have a new series under SBS.

She will play one of the main characters in the upcoming webtoon-based K-drama "The Killing Vote" together with Park Hae Jin and Park Sung Woong.
