Lee Sang Yi Responds to Questions About ‘Bloodhounds’ Season 2: ‘I wonder if there will be romance’

Lee Sang Yi shared his thoughts about the possibility of "Bloodhounds" season 2, where he starred alongside Woo Do Hwan.

One of the most talked-about Netflix K-dramas this year is the webtoon-based action series.

After its debut on Netflix, "Bloodhounds" entered the streaming giant's top 10 TV shows worldwide.

In addition, viewers also raved about the series on social media, mentioning the spectacular story and amazing cast lineup.

During his interview with Esquire Korea, Lee Sang Yi talks about his recent K-drama, "Bloodhounds."

Here's What Lee Sang Yi Thinks About 'Bloodhounds' Season 2

Besides gracing the publication's August 2023 issue, Lee Sang Yi was asked about the possibility of "Bloodhounds" returning with a sequel.

He gets honest and says that it's up to the management and drama officials, but he also expresses that he would also like to make it happen.

"It's not something I can decide, but it's fun just by vaguely imagining it," he shared.

As for the possible plot, if given the chance that "Bloodhounds" season 2 gets the green light, Lee Sang Yi "wonders if there will be a romance" featured in the sequel.

In the eight-part K-drama, he took on the role of Hong Woo Jin, an amateur boxer who met Kim Gun Woo, played by Woo Do Hwan, during a match.

Despite being beaten by the rookie player, Woo Jin became close to Gun Woo and got entangled in an organization led by loan sharks.

During their chaotic time, they were able to meet former loan shark chairman Choi Tae Ho, played by veteran actor Heo Joon Ho, and his adopted daughter Kim Hyun Joo, portrayed by Kim Sae Ron.

Interestingly, Park Sung Woong is played by the viscous villain Kim Myung Gil, who chases Kim Gun Woo.

Lee Sang Yi on Filming 'Bloodhounds': "It wasn't easy'

According to Lee Sang Yi, playing his character had challenging moments, especially on the physical aspect.

Since "Bloodhounds" is his first major action series, he said filming it "wasn't easy."

However, he expressed his desire to play the role perfectly and shared that he would shoot some of his scenes a couple of times with different angles.

"Since each angle is different, I used to shoot 1-2 second fight scenes for hours," he said, as obtained by a media outlet.

After "Bloodhounds," Lee Sang Yi will be joining the cast of "My Demon" as one of the main characters.

He will be working alongside Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung under the direction of Kim Jang Han, who was behind the series "You Raise Me Up."

Besides the upcoming series, Lee Sang Yi is also known for his roles like Ji Sung Hyun in "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha," the son of Gwangju's businessman Lee Soo Chan in "Youth of May," and more.
