Girls' Generation is one of the iconic second-generation idol groups, loved by fans for their talents, amazing discography, vocals, and visuals.
In 2007, they debuted with 9 members, namely Taeyeon, YoonA, Choi Sooyoung, Yuri, Hyo Yeon, Sunny, Tiffany, and Seohyun, including former member Jessica Jung.
However, not many people know that the female group almost debuted with 10 members.
Not everyone is aware that this K-drama actress almost became a member of Girls' Generation. She was already included in the planned debut lineup.
Unfortunately, she missed the chance because of this reason.
Lee Yeon Hee Failed to Debut in Girls' Generation Because of THIS
According to a source, Lee Yeon Hee, who was formerly under SM Entertainment, failed to join the group because she was too beautiful.
The "East of Eden" star appeared in Yuri's YouTube vlog as a guest where the two showcased their close friendship. The two recounted their past; in particular, the days when they were preparing to debut.
Yuri opened up about Lee Yeon Hee's journey of becoming an idol. The "Good Job" star revealed that there was a myth about Lee Yeon Hee on why she failed to debut.
"The real reason she couldn't join us was because Yeon Hee-unnie was too beautiful. Seriously. There's a legend about her at SM. People even say that if you put her in a lineup of all visuals, she would still steal the spotlight."

In addition, Yuri hilariously elaborated that if Lee Yeon Hee debuted in SNSD, she would have been the leader of Girls' Generation.
In 2018, the "Race" actress addressed the issue and confessed that it was true that she was part of the group's debut lineup.
However, she realized that she didn't make the cute because she lacked a lot while training alongside the Girls' Generation members.

While she may not have made it to the final lineup, Lee Yeon Hee remains close friends with the members. She ended her contract with SM Entertainment in 2020 and signed with Hyun Bin's agency VAST Entertainment.
Lee Yeon Hee has headlined ten K-dramas and in eight movies. The beautiful actress starred in "The Game Towards Zero" with Ok Taecyeon, "Welcome to Wedding Hell" with Lee Jin Wook, "The Package" with Jung Yong Hwa, and many more.
The 35-year-old actress just concluded her drama "Race" where she worked with former labelmate U-Know, a member of the K-pop group TVXQ.
As of this writing, the actress has no confirmed projects yet.
