One of the underrated K-dramas of 2021, "Navillera," is a melodrama that made viewers cry buckets. It stars Song Kang and veteran actor Park In Hwan as male ballet dancers who have a different outlook on their passion for dancing.
It's not your typical rom-com or romance series since the webtoon-based K-drama focuses on friendship that transcends time and going after what you've always wanted in life.
Helmed by Han Dong Hwa of "Shadow Detective," Song Kang takes on the role of professional ballet dancer Lee Chae Rok. He has the talent and time to make a name for himself in the world of dancing, but he is not 100 percent for it.
He then meets a 70-year-old Shim Deok Chul. A former mailman whose lifelong dream was to become a ballet dancer, but due to his priorities in life, he had to give up his dream and work for his family.
Although he often plays the role of grandfather in various movies and K-dramas, the Park In Hwan character showcased an unusual yet sweet friendship with Lee Chae Rok and treated him as if he were his own grandson.
After "Navillera," viewers get to see the veteran actor as Kim Yo Hwan's grandfather in "School 2021" and also appear as a supporting actor in the 2022 series "It's Beautiful Now."
